Responsible AI Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Our Commitment

Aslan Interactive integrates artificial intelligence into our work and the platforms we build. This policy describes the principles that guide how we select, deploy, monitor, and maintain AI systems. We believe AI should augment human capability, not replace human judgment, and we hold ourselves accountable to that standard.

1. Human Accountability First

We design every AI integration so that a human remains accountable for outcomes that matter. Specifically:

  • AI-generated outputs that affect users, customers, or business decisions are always reviewed by a qualified person before they are acted upon.
  • Clients and end-users are informed when they are interacting with an AI system.
  • We do not build fully autonomous systems for high-stakes decisions (financial, legal, medical, safety-critical) without explicit human-in-the-loop safeguards.

2. Transparency

We are upfront about what AI can and cannot do:

  • We document the purpose, capabilities, and limitations of every AI feature we ship.
  • We disclose the model provider (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) and the general nature of data sent to third-party APIs.
  • We do not claim AI features are "magic" or infallible. We set realistic expectations with clients and users.

3. Data Privacy and Security

We treat data used by AI systems with the same rigor as all other client data:

  • We do not use client data to train third-party AI models without explicit written consent.
  • We review the data retention and processing policies of every AI vendor we use.
  • We prefer providers that offer zero-retention or enterprise privacy agreements.
  • Sensitive or regulated data is only sent to AI systems after a privacy and compliance review.

4. Fairness and Non-Discrimination

We work to prevent biased or unfair outcomes:

  • We evaluate AI outputs for bias before deployment, especially for features that affect user access, content moderation, or recommendations.
  • We test with diverse inputs and monitor for disparate outcomes across user groups.
  • When bias is identified, we adjust prompts, filters, or model selection and document the remediation.

5. Reliability and Monitoring

AI systems drift, degrade, and fail. We plan for that:

  • Every AI feature includes logging, error handling, and a graceful fallback path.
  • We monitor for accuracy, latency, cost, and error rates on an ongoing basis.
  • We set clear thresholds for when an AI feature should be disabled or escalated to human review.
  • Model updates and API changes are tested in staging before reaching production.

6. Environmental and Economic Responsibility

We consider the real-world costs of AI:

  • We right-size model choice — we do not use the largest, most expensive model when a smaller one suffices.
  • We optimize prompts and cache results to reduce unnecessary API calls.
  • We provide clients with clear cost projections and ongoing cost visibility.

7. What We Will Not Do

We decline work that violates this policy:

  • Build deceptive AI systems (e.g., bots that impersonate real people without disclosure).
  • Deploy AI for surveillance, social scoring, or manipulation without informed consent.
  • Use generative AI to produce misleading or harmful content at scale.
  • Hide AI involvement from users or clients.

8. Review and Updates

This policy is reviewed at least annually and whenever we adopt a new AI technology or vendor. Changes are posted on this page with an updated date. We welcome feedback from clients, users, and the public.
